The development and progress of our nation was based on the support of the Soviet Union and nobody would deny this fact, Ragchaa guai said He used to be the so-called agent, a tradesman who would hang goods from his saddle and he sold them by visiting the ails. Most of the trade was done by tögrögs and he used to give loan to some ails.
In 1957, the forest survey expedition which is situated in the present Geo-ecologic Institute conducted its first survey and determined that Mongolia’s forest resource was 15 million hectares. At that time there were plenty of forests but since democracy they have been destroyed. For example, the Tujiin nars (pine forest) woods have decreased to the extent that you can see the people walking in the woods.
He completed the seven-year school of Hatgal sum and continued to study until the ninth grade at the secondary school of Mörön city. He also finished the agricultural forestry class. Ragchaa guai joined the forest expedition and he has surveyed all the lands with forests. At that time there were plenty of working places, and the people had a lot interest in working therefore there was very little unemployment, he said. Around the Hövsgöl area the prohibition of worshipping Buddha wasn’t observed and the people used to worship ovoos and Buddha. The people born before 1940 don’t know their exact date of birth. It is related to the fact that they used to tell their birth date by the lunar calendar and the majority of the children were said to be born in spring or autumn. In other words, they used to tell just the season.
In order to join the Party, one had to pass many tests. Initially one had to be a deputy member for a period of one year without any problems. And only after would he be considered at the meeting and then he became the real member.
With the coming of democracy foreign relations have improved, but the people only talk about their rights, and are not aware of their responsibilities. Privatization seemed to be a nice thing at that time, but in fact it all has been wasted going through the hands of a few cunning and quick-minded people.
