Summary of Interview 091017A with Dügersüren by Buyandelger
Dügersüren is a son of an ordinary herder. He used to hunt marmots to fulfill the socialist assignment for marmot skins. He was almost kept in military service. In the remote land of Bayan-Ölgii aimag he completed his military service and returned home. He directly reminisced about the mothers who suffered and longed for their children. It is very true what he says. Often no one of us takes notice of the god beside us. Our parents are gods. Dügersüren has told an amazing thing that I have written here. Not certain if it is a legend of a wise son of a noyon of his land, or it’s a true story. That bright minded and wise son married a Chinese young woman and lived near the Chinese king. He used to sing this song longing for his country, the people and his parents:
The West Tamir is the land
With a young brother Shavaa Shireet
The Tamir land of drink
With bright young brother
A long brown beautiful horse
With a spacious run
Why do I live so far
From my beautiful and tireless country?
The song has many verses and he has never forgotten the words of it and he has recited them by heart.
It is said, Tsendiin Damdinsüren used to say,
The black chest has something
The lame old man has knowledge
You’ll find here the life philosophy and purpose of the ordinary electrician, an old man.
