Summary of Interview 081224B with Anonymous
In the second part of her interview she has talked about moving from her homeland to Selenge aimag and settling there. Her older brother had the intent to be close to the market and send the children to school from a place that was less expensive. Therefore they chose the Tarni resort of Zuunharaa in Selenge aimag and came there from Hovd sum in Uvs aimag. Two, three ails that moved to the center joined their livestock together and they drove them1800 km. She travelled this distance together with her husband for 45 days. She talked about the hardships of driving livestock, the sorrow and happiness, the hot and cold weather they had been through, the funny reminisces happened on the way. When they first came to Tarni resort, the people were taken by their ways of riding a horse wearing deel, and putting the lasso on the saddle. They were very interested in it and it was the indication that the western aimag people have better preserved the customs. The people were greatly surprised and always asked questions why. And in the beginning it seemed strange to her. Thanks to coming to a central place today they do not seek meat for their meal and milk for tea (ie, things are less scarce). Her children now have the opportunity to study in the city and get educated.
U. Zagir still vividly remembers the film she had watched in her childhood. The title of the film is ‘Introduction to Undeclared War’. She still remembers this film because her acquaintance had played in it. She also told funny stories about what happened while she studied at the vocational school. She supported democracy when it first came out, but now the people have become lazy and they prefer ready made things, she said.
