Summary of Interview 090705B with Bira
In the start of the interview Bira mentioned that the initiator of the cultural campaign was Filatova and he talked about the processes of the cultural campaign. He concluded that the cultural campaign brought acute changes in the household culture of the people and the quality of the service shops.
He briefly talked about how privatization was first announced. The ordinary people didn’t have the time to find things out when a group of people had already purchased the privatization coupons at the market and in the ‘ails’. Therefore there are few of those who got the any benefit, he feels. The people who had privatized the factories sold the buildings and equipment and using that money they managed businesses, starting on the path to become wealthy.
He briefly talked about democracy, the state agencies and city life. He also briefly mentioned about the changes taking place in the nature and the environment and the funeral rituals.
