Summary of Interview 090733A with Tsedev
Dorjin Tsedev was born in 1933 in the so called ‘Ar toilbo’ land of the second bag of Hushaat sum of Töv (Selenge) aimag. He received the title of the merited teacher of Mongolia in 1980. It’s a special thing that he has taught Mongolian language for forty years to the schoolchildren of Hishig Öndör sum, Bulgan aimag. His students won six times at the state Mongolian language Olympics. In 1953 he entered the State Teacher’s Institute and graduated in 1956. At that time culture was not disseminated in the border aimags, only in the city was culture disseminated, and it was the time when European culture had already emerged and it was fully flourishing. He said about himself what is written in one beautiful poem of D. Natsagdorj: An intelligent person is a heir to the future who inseminates culture in the youth. He said he had worked and lived for 53 years sacrificing his sleep and meal, day and night, disregarding rest and entertainment to implement Natsagdorj’s ideology and civilize the nation and develop the local culture and economy. He talked in detail about what he had followed in his work, in the method of his teaching and what kind of experiences he had introduced. We can see from his interview at what high level the countryside secondary school teaching quality was in the socialist period, and what level of development the skill, knowledge, experience of the teachers had reached.
His interview was accompanied by a list of the academic scores of his students of many generations whom he had taught and directed within his fifty years, their academic achievements, private class-books with the detailed and neat writing of the personal characteristics, and the photos will be a very valuable and rare memory of our interview.
