Summary of Interview 091032A with Batbaatar
You‘ll find from this interview one of the common images of the veterinarians of that time who responsibly fulfilled their work duties visiting many sums. He graduated the veterinarian class of the Agricultural Institute and together with his wife he went to his homeland. He also mentioned the versatile activity of his uncle Minjüür, the hero of labor, who was famous in the socialist period. Compared to the present day, it seems substantial work was done then to keep the livestock healthy. The two of us talked about the possibility of developing for some herders an intensified livestock husbandry in this market economy, about the possibility for the aimag center citizens to establish milk and meat farms around the aimag center, and also Batbaatar talked about prevailing management of the livestock. The livestock grow and our mouths become greasy. We can’t imagine a Mongolian without livestock. Without a veterinarian the livestock can’t grow and be healthy. In order to export international standard meat products the state should take into consideration that a policy is necessary to train veterinarians, zoo-technicians and other vocational personnel and send them to the countryside. We hope the government of reformation will consider this matter. We all like meat. Batbaatar emphasized that there should be an independent self-governing large veterinarian administration in the aimag. The private veterinarians should also be supported.
