Summary of Interview 091051A with Lamsüren

Lamsüren was born the second son of a family in 1949 in the so-called Ulaan Chuluu land of Battsengel sum of Arhangai. He had completed the seventh grade at the Battsengel sum school. In 1969-1972 he served in the army. He worked as a carpenter and a driver.

At that time, military service taught people many things and made them tolerant. The army implanted will power and skill and the people became able to do any kind of work. Religion and piety were prohibited and along with that there was repression, nevertheless I established the Ölzii Badamlagch monastery in order to develop my own ideas and the Mongolian intellect.

Lamsüren said he he accepted the democracy, the value of democracy and both the good and bad aspects of it.
